In the nearest Kolimbari, the Orthodox Academy of Crete, the Gonia Monastery, the Cave of St. John and the Fishing Museum of Chania draw the interest of thousands of visitors each year. The marvellous beach of Falassarna, a true pole of attraction with its clear waters, stretches further to the west, whereas Elafonissi with its golden sand and its shallow waters, located further to the south, constitutes one of the most famous summer destinations.
